Why Choose a Guestbook?
Adding a guestbook to a site is an easy way to add interactivity, and solicit
feedback from those who actually visited. Indicating the number of hits, a
successful guestbook, actually helps tell the story behind the numbers.
The guestbook is a database, with a small content management system (CSM). This permits a client to edit the messages for spelling, as well as inappropriate postings.
By following the messages posted, a client can better understand the
demographic appeal of a site. However, with the options of a moderated and non-moderated guestbooks, the client also has the ability to approve all or some of the messages submitted for posting.
Non-Moderated Guestbook
With a non-moderated guestbook, visitors' postings are added immediately to the viewable posting area. However the CSM allows the client to remove postings that are defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate for the site.
Moderated Guestbook
With a moderated guestbook, all postings to the page are screened through the CSI before they are posted to the site. This
prevents offensive materials from being added automatically to the page.
There is no extra cost for moderated or non-moderated guestbooks. However, we must know at the onset, which you would prefer.
